Hey friends! Some new skincare products have made their way into my list of favorites. Many of you had asked me about my current favorite skincare products; so, I’m reviewing some of them here.
My first set of faves comes from the Boxwalla June Beauty Box (themed Mossaic) that included couple of products from Moss skincare. The two products included in the box were their Illumina Vitamin C serum & Beurre Celesté cleansing balm. Moss skincare products are formulated for sensitive acne-prone and congested skin; however, the potent plant oils, butters and extracts that are used in their products, make them age-defying powerhouses, with chock-full of antioxidants & collagen boosters, that are perfect for all skin-types.
MOSS Beurre Celesté Cleansing Balm: I love everything about this balm! I have used it as a cleanser as well as a mask! It has an amazing set of key ingredients like raw nebraska honey, sunflower oil, macademia oil, kokum butter, and seabuckthorn CO2 extract; which offer gentle exfoliation, smoothing and brightening effect to the skin.
Now, let’s about its texture – the balm has such a beautiful texture that melts like a butter on my skin and removes makeup, grime, and impurities effortlessly and thoroughly. It rinses clean and doesn’t leave any oily or waxy residue. Every time I open the jar, I love sniffing off the sweet aroma of honey that reminds me of a toffee I used to relish as a kid. The only thing that bothers me a bit with this cleanser is that it tingles my eyes until I thoroughly wash it off.
MOSS Illumina Vitamin C Perfecting Treatment Intensif: Illumina is an oil-free serum targeted toward reducing acne lesions & inflammation and promoting collagen synthesis. It is a Vitamin C and an exfoliating serum in one! Illumina combines the antioxidant power of Vitamin C with a very gentle exfoliating complex of pumpkin enzyme, moth bean extract, and willow bark.
My skin is oily, sensitive, and prone to breakouts; and Illumina is just perfect for my skin type. I use this serum every other day (as a part of my evening skincare regime). And I have never seen any product work so quickly and effectively on my skin right from the first use. In fact, I have seen overnight results with this serum; fresh zits have dried up within a day! Even though I have sensitive skin, I have never experienced any redness or itchiness with this serum. And since I have started using this serum, my sporadic breakouts have reduced considerably! To say, I’m blown away with its results would be an understatement. The only thing I struggle a bit with is – blending this serum. It doesn’t absorb into my skin easily and takes longer than usual for the serum to sink into the skin.
Live Botanical Aer Fresh Complexion Toning Elixir: The first thing that comes to my mind while describing this toner is “refreshing, calming, and oh, so soothing!” I use this toner almost every day and sometimes more than once a day. Aer Fresh Complexion toner contains a beautiful blend of ginger and spearmint hydrosol that invigorates the senses and soothes and hydrates the skin. This elixir is specially formulated with warming and cooling herbs that help in reducing inflammation and speeds up the recovery cycle of breakouts. It also contains extracts of aspen (natural form of exfoliating salicylic acids) that control acne causing bacteria.
Live Botanical Luna Glowing Mask: You all know how much I love honey-based masks! And this mask truly lives up to its name! Inspired by ancient beauty traditions of honey infusions and powdered herb massage. A deeply hydrating and repairing cleansing mask made with whole herbs, botanical extracts and fruit enzymes blended with raw honey.
Luna is a sticky honey-based mask that contains a nourishing blend of whole organic flowers of rose, calendula and dandelion roots with organic papaya enzymes, organic aspen, and organic chia seeds. I apply a thin layer of the mask on my damp skin; leave it on for about 15-30 minutes; and rinse it off with lukewarm water while massaging the herbal grains to exfoliate my skin. Love, love, love how this mask makes my skin look brighter, glowy and dewy! This mask can also be used as a cleanser.
Khus+Khus Detox Range – Khus+Khus Modern Herbal Fusion is a botanical, holistic herbal skincare line. Their Detox range is specially targeted for acne-prone, oily, combination, mature, and sensitive skin types. I had received their Detox Hydrolat and Detox serum; and let me tell you I’m in love with this combo!
Khus+Khus Detox Hydrolat: Detox Hydrolat contains a unique botanical blend of french violet, patchouli, white grapefruit, rock rose, witch hazel, and rock rose floral water! With such effective ingredients that offer antiseptic, toning, and moisturizing benefits to the skin, this mist works brilliantly on inflamed skin conditions. The first thing I noticed was how cooling and soothing it felt on my skin. I also experience slight tightening effect with this toner; probably because of its anti-wrinkle treatment properties. I have to admit I didn’t like its fragrance initially; but it has grown on me now. And I especially love the combination of the Detox hydrolat with the Detox serum; and how they work together on my skin.
Khus+Khus Detox Face Serum: My experience with this serum – WOW! This lightweight oil-based serum is made with some really soothing and healing ingredients like, french violet, patchouli, white grapefruit, rock rose (just like the Hydrolat); and a beautiful blend of non-comedogenic oils – jojoba, watermelon seed oil, and tamanu. So it works really well for oily skin types. Its fragrance is quite similar to my beloved Maya Chia Supercouple Face Oil.
I follow this serum immediately after the Detox Hydrolat (when my skin is damp). That way the serum absorbs well into my skin. Sometimes, I spritz another layer of Hydrolat after this serum for an extra layer of hydration; and sometimes, I just apply the serum first and then follow it with the Hydrolat. I mostly prefer oil-based serums at night. I love how this serum provides just the right amount of hydration to my skin and makes it look quite well-balanced and pretty healthy (without feeling overly oily or greasy). I have noticed slight reduction in redness on my cheeks too.
