Okay, so I’m back with my December Boxwalla review! After enjoying the December beauty box for a little over two weeks, I thought it really deserved a review post. I personally love all Boxwalla curation – right from the moment they start teasing their followers with riveting hints about their next box’s curation to their delineation, and the melange of the brands and the products…everything is laudable.
Now coming back to the December beauty box – I think this box piqued my interest due to several factors. First of all, the theme for the month of December beauty box was “A Brief History of Timeless Things.”
To explain this theme, Boxwalla states: Each product in the December Beauty Box is a portal to travel through time and space, with ingredients that have been part of ancient cultures. Learn how some timeless things evolved to find their perfect form in the products in this box.
Who wouldn’t get entranced by such a theme? But if that doesn’t sway you entirely, just wait until you know the stellar products included in this beauty box!
The box contained three impressive products from three different brands. The interesting thing about this box I felt was that even though the products belonged to diverse brands and they were also targeted for different purposes… after having indulged in each of them; it feels remarkably apt to be teamed together.
Okay now let’s move on to the products included in the box. Let me first talk about the first product – Dafna’s Eye Care.
Before I begin, I have to confess that I was never a strong believer of purchasing any eye treatment product. And I have never really invested in any specific eye care product either. Why? Because somehow I never believed in the concept of applying an individual product (oil, cream, or gel) to my eye area. So I really wanted to test the selection of Boxwalla with their eye care product. (Plus not to mention, I was intrigued to try an award winning under-eye treatment product from an interesting brand – Dafna!)
Spanish brand Dafna’s Skincare’s award winning Eyecare is an unusual, serum-lotion for the delicate eye area. Ayurveda meets Biotechnology to create a treatment that is uniquely effective and fast-absorbing. Chicory Oligosaccharides and natural peptides stimulate collagen production and synthesis. Additionally, the chicory oligosaccharides are injected into a 3D matrix that allows its sequential delivery to the skin. This leads to both an immediate lifting effect and long term hydration and firmness to the delicate skin under the eyes. Rosehip reduces the appearance of fine lines and Calendula extract reduces puffiness. Since this eye treatment is a cream and not oil based, it wears beautifully under makeup as well, and is a cult favorite in Spain.
The very first thing worth mentioning and appreciating about this eye treatment is its texture. It’s a white colored cream, which is completely non-greasy and non-oily. What I specifically like about Dafna Eye Care is its refreshing, soothing, and hydrating effect that I experience around my eyes.
Since our eye area is very sensitive and delicate, it’s really important that the eye care products do not require much effort to absorb into the skin. And sometimes, with oils, you find the products just sit on the surface of your skin; what’s worse is that if you’re a makeup lover, it might not let your makeup products settle properly. But Dafna Eye Care is so potent that you only need a pea size of the cream and it gets absorbed like a charm. I have also mixed it with my concealer and applied it underneath my eyes. I just love how this cream blends well with my makeup products and doesn’t cause any irritation or discomfort.
I don’t have any fine lines around my eyes; so I’ll abstain from commenting anything about that. But I will definitely mention that if you’re like me, who didn’t or don’t believe in any eye treatment product, you really should give this product a try!
The second product in this box was Lepaar Skin’s – 24 K Precious Oil.
This luxurious facial serum tells stories that began 5000 years ago. It is crafted with impeccably sourced ingredients, each chosen for its specific benefits to the skin: Tasmanian calendula, Daintree vanilla bean, papaya seed oil from India, seabuckthorn fruit and seed oil from Germany, pomegranate seed oil from Israel, raspberry and blueberry seed oils, two kinds of frankincense: from Somalia and Oman, two kinds of myrrh: from Somalia and Namibia, certified cosmetic grade, non-nano 24 K gold from a family owned company in Germany.
I love face oils and I’m always crazy about finding face oils with unique ingredients. Lepaar Skin was one of the brands that I always wanted to try. Their unique sun-infused and gold-charged process used to formulate products (composed of rare botanicals and sacred oils) is quite fascinating. So when Boxwalla introduced the Lepaar Skin’s 24K Precious Oil as a part of their December beauty box, I was tickled pink.
I particularly love the packaging of the bottle – presented in a patented UVA light filtering glass bottle, it also features a hand applied gold wax seal. The 24K Precious Oil contains some amazing ingredients like Calendula, Vanilla, Olive oil, papaya seed oil, pomegranate seed oil, and seabuckthorn seed oil. The oil is ultra-emollient and absorbs quickly. It is very hydrating and perfect even for my oily skin. And the frankincense and myrrh fragrance is mesmerizing. It’s a wonderful discovery!
The last product in the box is Rebel & Mercury’s candle in Cinnamon, Clove and Nutmeg.
Rebel & Mercury’s candle is made from 100% natural essential oils and absolutes, in a proprietary blend of coconut-based wax (with a bit of beeswax) that is free of soy and palm ingredients. The best-selling scent (Cinammon, Clove, Nutmeg) is warm & enveloping, with top notes of sweet orange that segue into clove, cinnamon, nutmeg and hints of cardamom. With a gentle and lovely throw, it is perfect for winter and the holiday season.
Apart from being deeply passionate about green beauty products, I love collecting candles too! Personally, I love the warmth, positive energy, and vibes that it spreads (or at least I feel that way). Rebel & Mercury was not a known company to me; but this best-selling candle sounded so lovely that I couldn’t wait to try it! Made with 100% essential oils, this candle has warm and spicy notes, including cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and topped off with sweet orange. It smells absolutely amazing and now I think I need to try more from this range!
